Named for its location on the 21st floor within The LaSalle Hotel, Grill on 21 is a unique and modern interpretation of the classic American Grill. Roanoke Hospitality has created Grill on 21 for the sophisticated diner of the 21st century, blending historically classic cuisine with the consciousness of the modern-day diner. The Grill on 21 demonstrates how classic American grill can be more approachable, still indulgent, a bit healthier and completely socially aware for our guests and our environment. All of this is blended into a unique, fun, sophisticated yet comfortable experience. Centrally located in the heart of Chicago’s Financial District, it is an ideal destination for professionals, well-traveled visitors, and locals alike.

Deftly paying homage to tradition while acknowledging contemporary dining trends, the menu features a diverse array of grilled steaks, chops, hearth-roasted fish, poultry, locally grown produce, and plant-based items, all lovingly prepared with an emphasis on approachability and integrity.

The menu was developed by Chef de Cuisine Ian Robertson (L2O, TRU, ABC Kitchen) in consultation with Chef Andrew Hunter (Wolfgang Puck Worldwide, Niman Ranch, Kikkoman). With a rotating selection of American and Continental-style classics, Grill on 21 playfully reintroduces timeless dishes such as Lobster Thermidor, Sole Meuniere, House Cured Salmon Gravlax, and Sweet & Savory Popovers. Grill on 21’s chefs take great effort and pride in sourcing the menu’s high-quality ingredients from environmentally responsible, local family farms, ranchers, and sustainable fisheries.

In acknowledging the vital role that personal health plays within today’s lifestyle, the menu also weaves well-being with luxurious indulgence. Steak tasting menus allow guests to enjoy high-quality meat cuts in thoughtful portion sizes. Plant-based dishes such as Artichoke Crab Cakes and Hearth-Roasted Carrot Wellington balance health-consciousness with deeply satisfying, mouthwatering flavors.

Exuding sophistication and concierge-level service, the lounge provides guests with an intimate ambiance to enjoy artfully crafted classic and contemporary cocktails, signature drinks, craft beers and a wide selection of highly regarded old and new world wines.

The signature restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with a bar and lounge menu.
